Snowy Days

Snow Day Magic

The world wakes up wearing white like a wedding dress,
and for once I'm not thinking about endings.
My daughter presses her nose to the glass,
leaves a small galaxy of breath and wonder.
I make hot chocolate with too many marshmallows,
watch them melt into sweet oblivion.
Outside, everything sparkles like it knows a secret,
and maybe today I'll believe in simple joys—
snowmen with crooked smiles, angels in the yard,
the way light catches on ice and makes diamonds out of nothing.
